Book Report: Daniel Boone

I read a book called Childhood of Famous Americans Daniel Boone Young Hunter and Tracker. It is by Augusta Stevenson.
Daniel Boone was a famous hunter and a war hero. He moved around a lot. He lived in places like Kentucky, Pennsylvania and Mississippi. He didn't like staying in one place for a long time.
He went to visit Indian country and one of his Indian friends invited him to have a challenge like throwing tomahawks into a target and running races. He won all of them and his friend couldn't stand the thought of any white man beating him and almost threw a tomahawk at him. He had to go back again and lose on purpose so he would be safe outside his home.
When he was only 13 years old he was hunting and didn't come home for three days in the winter. He shot stuff with his gun that he got when he was 12. His mom thought that maybe he got lost and died. He made his own little house and covered it with animal skins, and said that he liked it better than his home. They had to find him because they thought he was lost.
I liked this book. If someone else loves reading, I think they will like it too. It was very interesting. I learned that Daniel Boone fought against the Indians when they tried to start a war. That seemed like something he wouldn't do when he was friends with so many Indians. But it was his job to fight for his country.
